I know yesterday was a tough day for many in and around the Boston Marathon. Not only were many affected by the 2 bombs but the ripple effect was far reaching. My heart goes out to those struggling with the loss and injuries that were sustained yesterday.
When I watched the events happening on TV last night I was able to see the damage that occured and I heard all of the broadcasters refering to the event as 'terror in Boston' or 'horror in Boston'. I agree it was a horrible event and I appreciate the news coverage so we could learn the facts. I knew when I turned on the TV again this morning I would be bombarded with more 'terror' and 'fear' based talk of the incident. I looked at the opening scenes on Good Morning America and what I was struck by was not the horror and chaos of the event but the love of those reaching out to help the hurt and injured. I saw people running to help each other, being there for each other and and doing all they could to get help for the injured. What I saw was love for each other and reaching out for each other despite what more might be coming. This was such a wonderful example of the kindness of the human nature and the caring and compassion we have.
As we listen to the barrage of media referring to the event with fear based language, I fear that we are just perpetuating the fear that the perpetrators were trying to accomplish. Living in a state of fear and reporting on it with such glorification just creates more of it in our lives. As the Law of Attraction states, that which we think about we create more of. I would like to ask that we turn our attention to the love and caring that was demonstrated yesterday and shift our energy to that of love for those suffering as a result of the event. Let us use this event to create more love in the world for friends and enemies alike and move beyond the fear.
I am visualizing love and compassion for those that were hurt and the loss felt by families and friends. I am feeling tremendous gratitude for those that were there to help the others, bystanders and officials alike. I am visualizing the ripple effect of this love knowing that we can take this horrible event and use it as an opportunity to create more love and kindness in this world. Please join me in using this ripple effect to bring more peace and love into our world.
