As you may know I am a big fan of Facebook. I like to look at pictures, read about the comings and goings of friends, learn about businesses I follow and become inspired by some of the quotes and stories. Of I course post my own things that are usually about little trips I am taking or inspirational picture quotes I have created and sometimes pictures I have taken. What I love most about posting is that the majority of time I post positive and uplifting things that are happening in my life or that I am thinking about (yes occasionally there is a rant but that is rare). And what I love the most about reading others posts is that they are also positive, entertaining and uplifting. I am able to choose which posts I want to read and which ones I choose to skip over and 99% of the time I skip over any posts that have a negative connotation to them.
As of late my mantra has been: What you focus on grows.
I like that people (myself included) put up the good things in their lives, they share wonderful insights or pictures and I can enjoy the inspiration from my news feed. Some folks call this fakebook because we only show the good things and how we might wish our life was, but as I have said...what you focus on grows, so by sharing and focusing on all the magnificence in my life or yours then I know it all grows.
I love to share my travels on Facebook and again sharing it and puts the focus on traveling which I find I do more and more of...you see what you focus on grows. I love that Facebook gives me an opportunity to share those parts of me that I want to grow and allows me to focus on those parts of friends that are so wonderful and positive as well. So I do believe that Facebook is good for you and me by focusing on all the wonderful things that people are choosing to share with the world.
