How easy it is for us to get caught up in our own world to stop for a minute, look into the eyes of another with love and compasion.
After hearing about the man that shot another in the movie theater because he was texting reminded me of this You Tube. The shooter was so consumed with how he ws affected that he never took the time to wonder why the man was even texting at all. The report is that he was texting the babysitter and had the shooter know this he may have had a little bit of compassion.
So often we judge others whether it is someone that cuts us off in traffic, takes up two parking spaces, rushes past us in the store or appears to be rude. We don't know what is happening in their life and we often just assume they are being jerks or choosing to have inappropriate behavior. Instead they may be rushing to help someone, feel confused because they are in a new place or just having a challenging day. Let's open our eyes to the wonder of others and give them more compassion and understanding as they are going through their day, just as you would hope someonoe would be kind and compassionate to you.
I know I wrote about this a few months ago but it keeps coming up for me and I so I needed to share it again.
